Fresco is a stylistic enhancement for various Taco Bell products in which the item's cheese and / or sauce is replaced by Fiesta Salsa. Fresco-style items are said to contain up to 50% less fat than their non-Fresco counterparts.
In 2003, Taco Bell introduced an entire menu of items served Fresco-style, all of which contain less than 9 grams of fat, including:
- Fresco Crunchy Taco
- Fresco Chicken Burrito Supreme
- Fresco Beef Burrito Supreme
- Fresco Bean Burrito
- Fresco Chicken Fiesta Burrito
- Fresco Soft Taco
Fresco Zesty Chicken Border Bowl
- Fresco Grilled Steak Soft Taco
- Fresco Ranchero Chicken Soft Taco
The Fresco Soft Taco with Beef has 7 grams fat, and 180 calories. The Fresco Ranchero Chicken Soft Taco has 4 grams fat, and 170 calories, and the Fresco Grilled Steak Soft Taco has 4.5 grams fat and 160 calories.
As of April of 2009, the Southwest Steak and the Zesty Chicken Border Bowls have been discontinued.
